MEET THE TEACHERS!

Meet the phenomenal Deaf Native ASL instructors for our summer classes! Get ready to learn from the best!

  • Hey! I’m Jenny, a proud Deaf woman born & raised in East Tennessee. I am currently living in Middle Tennessee with my husband and our four children. I’m so excited to see your interest in learning my heart language, American Sign Language, and about the Deaf World! Teaching ASL and Deaf Culture to homeschoolers these past few years has become a passion of mine. Some fun facts about me: I enjoy camping, playing games, and spending time with my family.

  • Hello! I’m Lara Whitfield-Garfinkel! I’ve been teaching ASL for 9 years, and I’m thrilled to be part of the team at Sign Language Studio LLC, where I get to help students learn ASL in a fun and interactive way. My goal is to make sure every class is personalized and engaging—whether you’re just starting out or looking to improve your skills. Outside of teaching, you’ll probably find me traveling the world with my family or supporting local businesses (especially coffee shops). I’m also passionate about connecting with and supporting the Deaf, DeafBlind and hard-of-hearing communities however I can!
