About this webinar:
Have you ever experienced a time where your brain felt so full of information that it was difficult to continue processing information? As sign language interpreters, we handle information overload on a daily basis. During this workshop, you will learn tips and tricks for “flushing” extra information from your brain. Participants will discuss Demand/Control Schema and how it can apply to daily interpreting assignments as well as coping techniques to combat cognitive overload.

About the Presenter:
Kevin Slater was born and raised in Sacramento, California, living with his two Deaf parents and one hearing sister. He eventually moved to Chattanooga to attend school at Tennessee Temple University. He graduated with his Bachelors degree in Sign Language Interpreting in 2008. Eventually, he went back to school to get his Masters degree in ASL/English Interpreting from the University of North Florida. Kevin holds a NIC: Master certification through RID and works hard to maintain that certification by attending workshops and other professional development courses. Kevin has worked for Sorenson VRS for over 15 years and is also a freelance interpreter for the greater Chattanooga area. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys reading, travel, and taking care of his cat, Figaro!
